The House
Le Logge di Silvignano Historic House is one of the most significant examples of medieval architecture (X to XV Century) in the Spoleto County. The building is listed by the Ministry of Cultural and Envinronment Patrimonium.
Our aim is to look for an equilibrium between the Historic value of the place and the Relaxation and Comfort needs of our Guests, who are for us special and unique people.
Its History
Silvignano is an antique Hamlet of the Spoleto County. It is located at 600 to 700 mt height on the Poreta Mountain, facing the Rocche di Pianciano, as a sentry to the roman Flaminia Road on one versant, and on the other versant to the also roman road of the Passo della Spina that brings you to the Marche Region and the Nera Valley.
Silvignano was erected from the XII century. Boundary walls were built from the half of the XIV century and a military garrison was installed for protection against raiders, so becoming part of the defence system of the Spoleto County, toghether with the Castels af Campello and Acera.
In 1480 Spoleto annexed Silvignano to the Poreta Castle, for a fee of 100 Fiorini.
In the village, are remarkable medieval remains such as the XIV century votive Chapel with original frescos of the Maestro di Fossa and St. Mattew and St. John churches, and monumental doors dated XII century.
Our Philosophy in Hospitality
Le Logge di Silvignano, our home, is for us Diana and Alberto, a "love affair", the carrying out of our common life project. We dream of hosting here people who love Nature and its Harmony and sounds and History, and choose this place for their holyday in Umbria.
We would like them feel themselves at home, in peace and privacy.
Enjoy the House
The House offers a wide garden and terraces, and a swimming pool overlooking the Umbrian Valley
The 5000 sqm Garden is divided in two parts. The one on the House front was once the old "hortus", now with two centuries-old fig trees, in the shade of which you can sit and read in summertime. The main part of the garden is surrounded by big oak, elms and olive trees, the swimming pool in the centre, and over 200 plants among lavender, rosemary, thyme, myrtle, abelia, cartegus, broom and pomegranate, and more than 50 different kind of rose.
The Pool is located in the most panoramic but reserved part of the garden, sunny from sunrise to sunset, equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, and areas in the shade.
We are both Sommelier, and our Wine Cellar is normally provided of a small but accurate selection of italian wines of different regions, that we like to discover and taste ourselves.
